The material can also be used for applications requiring (coloured) thick acrylic. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDesign considerations\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere are few restrictions when cutting acrylic. For finger joints, it is important to consider the thickness tolerances of acrylic to prevent internal stresses and thus cracks or breakage. Also, acrylic in thin or long strips is relatively fragile and susceptible to warping due to the heat generated during cutting; take this into account in the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLaser cutting\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAcrylic has protective film on both sides, fully protecting the sheets before, during and after cutting. The cut is clean, smooth and the same colour as the material. Engraved areas have a slightly whiter colour compared to the material. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf the design only contains cutting and engraving lines, we leave the film on both sides. If the design contains engraved areas, we must remove the film from the top side, in some cases a small amount of smoke may mark the material.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eImportant: by default, we place the sheet with the satin (matt) side up in the machine. The material can be subsequently glued, printed, sawn, sanded, milled and bent. For each operation, it is important to consider that the cutting process puts pressure on the cutting edge; if the acrylic is then processed, small cracks may occur in some cases. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo give line and area engravings greater contrast, they can be filled with paint (colour fill).
