For finger joints, it is important to take into account the thickness tolerances of acrylic to prevent internal stresses and thus cracks or breaks. Acrylic in thin or long strips is also relatively brittle and susceptible to warping due to the heat released during cutting; keep this in mind in the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLaser cutting\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAcrylic has protective film on both sides, ensuring the sheets are fully protected before, during, and after cutting. The cut is clean, smooth, and the same colour as the material. Engraved areas have a slightly whiter colour compared to the material. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf there are only cutting and engraving lines in the design, we leave the film on both sides. If there are engraved areas in the design, we must remove the film from the top side; in some cases, a small amount of smoke residue may then appear on the material.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePost-processing\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn principle, acrylic does not need to be post-processed due to the high quality of the material. The material can subsequently be glued, printed, sawn, sanded, milled, and bent. With every process, it is important to take into account that the cutting process puts pressure on the cutting edge; if the acrylic is then processed, small cracks can occur in some cases. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo give line and surface engravings greater contrast, they can be filled with paint (colour fill).
