Material: Veneered wood

Veneered wood is an MDF board that is laminated on both sides with a high-quality layer of real wood (veneer layer). By choosing to use a thin layer of wood and an MDF core, the advantages of both materials are utilized.
Veneered MDF offers the aesthetics of real wood thanks to the veneer (e.g., oak, walnut, mahogany), but retains the stability and clean cuts of MDF. Additionally, the material is a fraction of the price of a solid or plywood board made entirely of noble veneer. However, due to the MDF core, the material is not suitable for use in a humid environment.
Because cuts in MDF are brown, it is not visible that the core of the material is MDF, giving it a solid appearance. Laser cutting also ensures a clean edge without splinters.
Applications
The material is often seen in the interior design market, such as for wall panels, lampshades, POS materials, name and logo signs, display elements, and furniture fronts.
Due to the combination of precision and appearance, designers can integrate creative shapes into furniture or home accessories, such as cut-out patterns or engraved details. It is also popular in the retail sector for product displays, brand signs, and luxury packaging—applications where appearance and customization are important. Thanks to the natural appearance of the veneer, the product exudes quality and durability.
Additionally, veneered MDF offers numerous possibilities in art, education, and custom decoration. Think of personalized wall texts, engravings in photo frames, or architectural models.Even small series or one-off pieces can be produced efficiently, making it interesting for makers, designers, and creatives. Laser-cut veneered wood is thus a versatile material that effortlessly combines technique and aesthetics.
