Veneered Walnut Single-Sided

Veneered Walnut (A/R) is a high-quality veneered wood type. The core consists of a layer of brown HDF, the front is covered with the highest quality natural walnut veneer the market has to offer, and the back with a "red" layer of okoume counter veneer to prevent the panels from warping. The veneer gives the panel a solid wood appearance. The advantage of veneered MDF compared to a solid wood panel is that MDF hardly warps. 

Veneered MDF is available in various types of wood veneer, each with a unique pattern and color. The panel material has a flawless visible side (A) and an okoume red backside. This type is specifically suitable for applications where only the front side is visible. 

Applications

The applications for veneered MDF are primarily aesthetic; the material is often used for high-quality finishes, POS materials, and for applications that require a natural appearance. 

Design Considerations

Veneered wood has a grain direction, which is generally vertical on a full sheet but can also be horizontal depending on how the sheet is cut. If the grain direction is important, it should be specified in advance. Veneer is a natural product, so the sheets may vary slightly in pattern and color. 

Laser Cutting

After laser cutting, there will be smoke residue on the top and bottom of the material around the cut and engravings. On both sides, the smoke residue can be prevented by using protective film.The cuts are dark brown/black and engravings are dark brown. Due to the burning on the cut, it is not visible that the core material is MDF; the sheets appear solid. 

Post-processing

Veneered MDF can be easily mechanically processed afterwards by sawing, drilling, milling, and sanding. The material can also be lacquered or oiled.

Appearance

The material is light brown in color and has the texture of natural walnut. The material absorbs water very easily and is therefore not suitable for humid environments.
