MDF Black

Black MDF is a variant of regular MDF where black dye is added to the material during the production process, which makes the material black through and through. A major advantage of black MDF is that the cutting lines have the same color as the material.

Applications
The applications of black MDF are almost the same as regular MDF, mostly constructive purposes such as furniture construction, interior construction and model construction. In addition, the material is very popular for its aesthetic properties and combines well with acrylic.

Laser cutting

Like other types of wood, black MDF will have smoke deposits on the top and bottom of the material around the cut and engravings after laser cutting, these smoke deposits are virtually invisible due to the colour of the material. The cut and engraving have the same color as the material.

Post-processing

MDF can easily be mechanically processed afterwards by sawing, drilling, milling and sanding. The material can also be painted, when applying paint it is important to take into account the moisture absorbing properties of MDF, multiple base coats are often necessary.

Appearance

MDF is black through and through, has a smooth surface and does not splinter. The material absorbs water very easily and is therefore not suitable for humid environments.
