Plastic engraving
When it comes to laser engraving, wood is often the first thing that comes to mind. A hot laser burns a drawing into a wooden plate; this is a modern method based on ancient forms of woodworking. Plastic engraving is less obvious, as plastic tends to deform when heated. Nevertheless, it is possible to engrave even small details into plastic with beautiful results. The appearance of the product is very different compared to wood engravings, allowing you to differentiate and have all kinds of custom products engraved.
All engravings are produced on our own advanced machines. This means that, in addition to larger quantities, we can also produce single pieces. This is often a limitation with plastic products. Do you want a specific design such as a logo produced in a larger volume? That is also possible. This way, you can implement signage throughout your organization with minimal effort. Determine the size in the design, choose the desired material, and place your order.
Plastic engraving work
How does plastic engraving work? First, a digital design is created. You can do this yourself, or you might have a designer who provides the files for you. Please check the delivery specifications carefully to ensure that the file is suitable for our equipment. If you are not sure, or if you need help with this, please let us know. For plastic engraving, a laser beam is guided over the material with a special machine. This is done based on the drawing, so the desired design is 'burned' into the material. Unlike engravings on wood, with plastic engraving, the material will evaporate or discolor, creating a relief. However, no discoloration occurs on the rest of the object, which makes the result look very neat.
Tip: Does your organization have a corporate identity with a specific color scheme? With plastic engraving, you can decorate a building or event entirely in the style of the organization. From striking signs on the exterior of the building to subtle elements in the space. Please note that colors on a screen or print work with different color coding than plastic sheets. If you have any questions about this, please contact our team in advance.
Engraving plastic
For what applications is plastic engraving suitable? This can be very diverse, from small ornaments to large wall plaques. And in all sorts of colors and sizes. Here are some examples to inspire you.
- Engraved plastic information signs: From a sign with the word "entrance" to custom figures to find the toilet; Laser Lokaal can provide all kinds of signage.
- Engraved plastic ornaments: The laser always works on a flat surface but can burn holes or create a relief in it. This gives a special look to, for example, a coaster or even a durable menu card.
- Engraved plastic lettering: When engraving in plastic, an image composed of lines is used. This means that almost any font (after conversion to lines) can be used. It is even possible to engrave self-designed letters or a signature into plastic.
- Engraved plastic markings: Especially in environments where hygiene is important, both for staff and visitors, plastic engraving offers a solution. These products are easy to clean with standard cleaning agents, making them very user-friendly.
Engraving in plastic offers new possibilities to visualize your message. Our products are of high quality and have a long lifespan. This also makes plastic engraving a sustainable solution. Not only can plastic be recycled later, but because the material is wear-resistant and colorfast, it has a very long lifespan.
