A JPG, PNG, or other photo consists of pixels. For regular online laser cutting and engraving, we use vector lines. Therefore, the correct solution depends on what you want to create with the image.
The photo does not need to be produced
Is the image only used as an example, background, or helper layer in your vector file? Then remove it before re-uploading. Pixels that are still in a vector file will not be included; you will receive a notification during the file check.
The image needs to be part of the laser-cut design
Then you need usable vector shapes. A simple image with clear contrasts can often be traced, but check the lines carefully. Photos with many tones, shadows, or fine details cannot be automatically converted into good production work.
Export the corrected design as AI, EPS, DXF, SVG, or PDF with usable vector lines and check the preview after uploading.
You want an existing product to be engraved
For product engraving, we assess the product, material, surface, and image in advance. In this case, a photo or a non-fully vectorized file can sometimes serve as a starting point. Therefore, send the product and the desired position via the product engraving route instead of treating the file as a regular laser cutting job.
Are you unsure after a notification?
First, check which parts of your file have been recognized. If you can remove or correct the image, upload the new version. Only if you actually need product engraving or other non-online work is a request the logical next step.
