Acrylic wall ornament

This art object was created under the direction of Studio Koen Steger and in collaboration with our milling partner Makerstow. The base plate is approximately 150cm wide and consists of several layers of poplar plywood with pockets milled out. Dozens of different tinted acrylic cutouts fit precisely into these pockets.

The interplay of colors, depth, and material usage makes the result reminiscent of colored rice fields in Asia.
