SAM Pure Grass biobased fiberboard

What is this material?SAM Pure Grass is a bio-based fiberboard made from pressed grass fibers and natural binders, produced in the Netherlands. The board has a matte, fibrous texture with visible natural inclusions and color nuances ranging from light green to beige.

What is it suitable for?The material is suitable for packaging, displays, POS material, educational models, and decorative interior components where the visible fiber structure can be part of the aesthetic.

When designing.Fine details and very narrow sections can crumble at the edge. Therefore, use sufficiently wide shapes and avoid parts that will be subjected to structural stress. Also, be aware of natural color and texture differences between boards.

When laser cutting and engraving.Laser cutting results in a dark to black cutting edge. Black smoke residue may remain on and around the cut, which hardly rubs off. Protective film limits residue on the surface.

Finishing and maintenance.SAM Pure Grass can be sanded and glued. The fiberboard easily absorbs water and is not intended for damp areas or outdoor use. Store and use the material dry to limit warping and damage.
