Birch plywood

What is this material?Birch plywood is made up of multiple thin layers of birch veneer. It is strong, relatively dimensionally stable, and light in color. We supply B/BB quality: small plugs and knots may be visible, especially on the back.

What is it suitable for?A versatile choice for enclosures, kits, prototypes, models, packaging, signs, and interior components where strength and a neat wood appearance are both important.

When designing.When making fittings and finger joints, take the actual sheet thickness into account. Narrow parts and shapes perpendicular to the grain can be more fragile. If the grain direction is important for your design, please mention this when placing your order.

For laser cutting and engraving.The laser produces a dark brown to almost black cutting edge. Line and area engravings become dark and contrast clearly with the light surface. Light smoke residue may occur around cuts; protective film largely limits this.

Finishing and maintenance.Birch plywood can be sanded, glued, painted, varnished, or oiled. A finish is not always necessary, but it protects the surface from dirt and signs of use. This material is intended for dry indoor applications.
