Single-sided mahogany-veneered MDF

What is this material? Veneered mahogany single-sided has a brown HDF core, natural mahogany veneer on the front, and a reddish-brown okoumé counter veneer on the back. The warm mahogany grain is intended as the visible side.

What is it suitable for? The material is suitable for interior panels, displays, fronts, decorative components, and design objects where one side needs to have a warm, natural wood appearance. The back may remain out of sight.

When designing. Mahogany veneer is a natural material and varies in color, grain, and pattern. Keep the mahogany side as the front, specify an important grain direction in advance, and avoid very fine parts that will be stressed during use. Design fittings with the actual sheet thickness.

For laser cutting and engraving. The cutting edge and engravings turn dark brown to black. Smoke residue can occur around the processing on both sides; protective film can keep the sheet surface cleaner. Engravings contrast darkly against the mahogany visible side.

Finishing and maintenance. The visible side can be carefully sanded and then varnished or oiled. The veneer layer is thin, so work with care. Use the sheet in dry indoor spaces and protect it from moisture.
