Light opal acrylic (translucent)

What is this material? Light opal acrylic is a glossy, translucent plastic. The material is not completely clear: light and general shapes remain visible, while details behind it are softened.

What is it suitable for? Suitable for privacy panels, translucent displays, decorative screens, nameplates, and designs where a soft, diffused view is desired.

When designing. For illuminated applications, check in advance how much transparency and light diffusion you need. For fitting parts, consider the thickness tolerance and avoid long, very narrow shapes when stiffness is important.

For laser cutting and engraving. Laser cutting results in a clean, lightly colored cutting edge. Line and surface engravings become matte white and stand out more clearly than on the unprocessed surface.

Finishing and maintenance. The sheets have protective film. For surface engraving, the film on the top side must be removed, which may cause light smoke marks. For cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild acrylic cleaner.

Further processing yourself. You can further process or glue acrylic yourself after cutting. Be aware of stress in the cutting edge: small cracks may occur during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen process on a scrap piece first.
