Laser-cut acrylic edges can be smooth and glossy because the laser cuts using heat. The edge is particularly noticeable on clear acrylic. It is still a laser-cut edge, so do not automatically expect the same finish as separately polished material.
Thickness and shape make a difference
A straight outer edge is different from a small hole or sharp internal corner. Fine details concentrate the process in a small area. A thicker sheet can also produce a different edge from the same shape in a thin sheet.
On thick material, the cut may taper slightly. An opening can consequently fit differently at one face than the other.
Decide which edges will be visible
A glossy edge can be a deliberate feature on a transparent display. On an enclosure window, it may sit behind a frame. Consider the visible edge depth as well as the front of the drawing.
Samples and trial parts answer different questions
A sample shows colour, transparency and surface. To assess the edge of a fine pattern, thick sheet or particular opening, have that shape made as a trial.

Try subsequent treatments first
Sanding, cleaning and gluing can affect the edge and material. Test on an offcut and follow instructions for the actual product. The complete result matters particularly for clear visible parts.
