An inlay holds products in place; packaging adds protection, presentation and logistics to this. We cut the flat components from foam, cardboard and plywood, among other materials, based on product dimensions or a suitable drawing.

Measure the product
Draw the outline at the height where the product will sit in the insert. A tapered or rounded product may have different dimensions there than at the top.
Leave room to lift it out
Add a finger cutout to a close-fitting recess. Test with the actual product to find the clearance that holds it securely while allowing easy removal.
Build depth in layers
A through-cut goes all the way through the sheet. For a base or different depths, design separate cut layers.
Test the complete packaging
Check the fit with the product, insert and outer packaging together. A neat presentation and protection in transit place different demands on the design.
