From drawing to a part that fits
Design for actual thickness
Slots and press fits depend on both actual sheet thickness and laser kerf. Test critical joints in your chosen material.
Leave space around holes
A small hole close to an edge can weaken a part. Also consider the loads on narrow bridges and protruding features.
Separate panels from the structure
A transparent viewing panel may need a different material from the load-bearing parts. You can combine different files and materials in the same order.
Keep track of the version
Give each file a clear version name and test changes before ordering a full production run. Reordering restores the files and settings from the previous order.
