Acrylic Clear

What is this material?Transparent cast acrylic is a clear, hard plastic with a smooth and shiny surface. The material allows shapes and details to be clearly visible and is available for a wide range of transparent components.

What is it suitable for?Consider displays, showcases, windows, protective plates, models, and interior components where clear visibility is important.

When designing.For interlocking parts and finger joints, take the thickness tolerance into account. Long, narrow, or very thin parts are relatively fragile and can deform slightly due to the heat of cutting.

For laser cutting and engraving.Laser cutting results in a clean, clear cut edge. Line and surface engravings have a light, matte appearance and are therefore clearly visible on the transparent surface.

Finishing and maintenance.The sheets have protective film on both sides. Without the film, the surface is scratch-sensitive. Clean the material with a soft cloth and a mild acrylic cleaner. For surface engraving, we remove the film on the top side; slight smoke marks may then appear.

Further finishing yourself.After cutting, you can further process or glue acrylic yourself. Take into account tension in the cut edge: small cracks may occur during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen processing method on a scrap piece first.
