Transparent Acrylic Chair for Make-A-Wish

Together with graphic designer Ruud van Eijk, we developed a completely transparent chair that could be filled with toys. The art object was created for an auction benefiting Make-A-Wish, alongside 1:3 and 1:10 scale models.

From design to production

Our approach

The chair is made up of precisely cut transparent acrylic parts. For the construction and various scale models, the shape, dimensions, and connections had to be consistently aligned.

What it achieved

The result

A life-sized, functionally constructed art object with two smaller versions that show the same design to scale.

An object like this chair requires more than just loose laser parts. Material selection, construction, and assembly must be aligned from the design stage. With production drawings, you can have the individual parts calculated via online laser cutting. For the development of a complete object, you can read more about concept development.
