Mirror Acrylic for Introspection by Tom Putman

For Introspection from the Wildflower series by Tom Putman we cut mirror acrylic in different colors. The reflective shapes give his installation color, depth and an ever changing image.

From design to production

Our approach

Based on Tom Putman's design, we cut the different shapes out of coloured mirror acrylic. The finished acrylic parts were then combined with anodised aluminium and reflective tape.

What it achieved

The result

Seven works that together form an installation of about 59 by 350 cm, reflecting and repeating as connecting elements.

Color and reflection as material

For Introspection Tom Putman chose mirror acrylic in different colors from the Wildflower series. The material captures its environment, changes with the viewing angle and gives every shape extra depth.

We cut the acrylic parts accurately according to his design. Putman then combined them with anodized aluminum and reflective tape to create the final composition.

Seven works, one installation

The seven separate works together form an installation of approximately 59 by 350 cm. Repetition, color and reflection ensure that the image is experienced differently from every position.
