Acrylic Black

What is this material?Black acrylic is a hard, opaque plastic with a smooth and glossy surface. The sheet is black throughout and gives designs a sleek, deep-black look.

What is it suitable for?Suitable for letters, nameplates, displays, front panels, cover plates, and interior parts where an opaque black and glossy surface is desired.

When designing.For fitting parts and finger joints, consider the thickness tolerance. Long, narrow, or very thin parts are relatively fragile and can slightly warp due to the heat of cutting.

For laser cutting and engraving.The laser creates a clean black cutting edge. Line and area engravings become lighter and matte, making them stand out clearly against the glossy surface.

Finishing and maintenance.The sheets have protective film. For area engraving, the film is removed from the top surface, and slight smoke marks may occur. Clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner for acrylic.

Further finishing yourself.You can further process or glue acrylic yourself after cutting. Be aware of tension in the cut edge: small cracks can appear during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen process on a scrap piece first.
