Acrylic Matt Black

What is this material? Matte black acrylic is an opaque plastic with a uniform satin finish on both sides. The deep black appears calm and reflects less than the glossy variant.

What is it suitable for? Suitable for nameplates, facade letters, displays, faceplates, and interior components where a sleek black surface without strong gloss is desired.

When designing. For fitting parts and finger joints, consider the thickness tolerance. Long, narrow, or very thin parts are relatively fragile and can slightly deform due to the heat of cutting.

For laser cutting and engraving. The laser creates a clean black cutting edge. Line and area engravings become lighter and matte, making them stand out clearly against the black surface.

Finishing and maintenance. The sheets have protective film. For area engraving, the film is removed from the top surface, and slight smoke marks may appear. Clean the matte surface carefully with a soft cloth.

Further processing yourself. You can further process or glue acrylic yourself after cutting. Be aware of tension in the cutting edge: small cracks may appear during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen processing on a scrap piece first.
