Acrylic milky white opal (translucent)

What is this material? Milky white opal acrylic is a glossy, white plastic that transmits and diffuses light. Without lighting, the sheet appears a calm white; with light behind it, it creates a soft, even glow.

What is it suitable for? Particularly suitable for lightboxes, illuminated logos, diffusers, displays, and interior components where the light source should be as minimally visible as possible.

When designing. The distance to the light source and the distribution of the lighting determine how evenly the surface lights up. For mating parts, take into account the thickness tolerance and avoid long, very narrow shapes when stiffness is important.

When laser cutting and engraving. Laser cutting results in a clean white cutting edge. Line engraving and area engraving will have a lighter, matte appearance and remain visible when the material is illuminated.

Finishing and maintenance. The sheets have protective film. For area engraving, the film on the top side is removed, and slight smoke marks may occur. Clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild acrylic cleaner.

Further finishing yourself. After cutting, you can further process or glue acrylic yourself. Be aware of tension in the cutting edge: small cracks may appear during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen processing method on a scrap piece first.
