MDF white
White MDF (medium density fibreboard) is a fiberboard material made by compressing wood fibers under high pressure and applying a white (foil) coating on one side. The material has a smooth surface and does not splinter because it has no grain direction.
Applications
The applications for white MDF are diverse. The material is frequently used in furniture, artworks, models, and packaging. For projects that need to be perfectly white, the material is a very suitable solution.
Laser Cutting
After laser cutting, there will be smoke residue on the top and bottom of the material around the cuts and engravings. Due to the white color on the front of the material, this residue is more visible than with other materials. The smoke residue can be prevented on both sides by using protective film. The cuts are dark brown/black and engravings are dark brown.

Post-processing
MDF can be easily mechanically processed afterwards by sawing, drilling, milling, and sanding. Note that this can damage/remove the white side.
Appearance
MDF is brown in color and has a white front side due to a lacquer carrier foil layer. The material has a very smooth surface and does not splinter. The material absorbs water very easily and is therefore not suitable for humid environments. Cut edges and engravings are brown in color.
