Silicone rubber red (food safe)
Silicone rubber is a type of rubber that can be cut well and remains elastic and flexible. The material can be cut very precisely. This variant is food safe. The material is resistant to temperatures up to 220 degrees, water-repellent, insulating and UV-resistant.
Applications
Silicone rubber is often found in the fpharmaceutical, medical and food industries in the form of closures, (baking) moulds and applications where elasticity is important.
Designs
There are no restrictions in design, the material can be very high precision be engraved. Engravings have little contrast but can be used for negatives in baking molds, for example.
Laser cutting
Silicone rubber does not retain a permanent deposit after cutting, but it does leave a dusty/ashy residue that can be washed off. Because the material is flexible, the dimensions of certain parts can vary a small amount differences in reality t.o.v. the design.
Cutting width | 0.2mm (±0.05mm) |
Smallest shape supplied | 6x6mm |
Smallest detail (engraving) | 1mm |
Maximum size | 120x60cm (up to 250x120cm is possible on request) |
Post-processing
This material can be cut with a sharp knife. The material should be washed thoroughly after processing if the application is food.
Appearance
Silicone rubber is red in color, engraved parts have the same color as the material. On the material (mainly in the engravings and cut) residue can remain from the production process. This can easily be removed with alcohol or a round in the washing machine.
