Silicone rubber translucent

What is this material? Translucent silicone rubber is a milky white, translucent rubber sheet that remains flexible and elastic. The material is resistant to heat, moisture, UV and weathering and can be precisely cut.

What is it suitable for? This variant is suitable for gaskets, splash and dust caps, dampers, insulating components and translucent protective layers. For applications with special material requirements, the suitability of this variant must be determined in advance.

When designing. Consider the flexibility and wide thickness tolerance. Avoid sharp notches and very thin parts under tensile stress. Engravings are accurately possible but have little visible contrast with the milky white material.

When laser cutting and engraving. The laser makes a precise cut. Some residue may remain along the cut and in engravings. Due to its elasticity, a part may relax slightly after cutting and therefore deviate slightly from the drawn dimension.

Finishing and maintenance. Silicone rubber can be trimmed with a sharp knife and any remaining residue must be removed. Do not use this variant for regulated food contact or medical and pharmaceutical applications without your own verification of documentation, process, and application.
