Single-sided oak-veneered MDF

What is this material?Veneered oak, single-sided, consists of a brown HDF core with natural oak veneer on the front. The back has a reddish-brown okoumé counter-veneer and is intended as a technical back, not as a second oak visible side.

What is it suitable for?A logical choice for wall panels, fronts, displays, decoration, and other applications where one side remains visible. This gives the visible surface a true oak appearance without needing a second oak top layer on the back.

When designing.Plan the oak side as the front and take into account the differing color and appearance of the back. Grain, pattern, and color naturally vary. Indicate an important grain direction in advance and base fittings on the actual board thickness.

When laser cutting and engraving.Cutting edges and engravings will be dark brown to black. Smoke residue may occur around the processing area, also on the back; protective film can limit this. Engraving on the oak visible side creates a dark pattern on the natural surface.

Finishing and maintenance.The oak visible side can be carefully sanded, varnished, or oiled. Avoid sanding through the thin veneer layer. The board is intended for dry indoor applications and must be protected from moisture.
