Black micro-corrugated cardboard

What is this material?Black microflute cardboard is a lightweight board with two black cover layers and a fine corrugated core. Its consistently dark appearance and thinner flute give it a sleeker look than regular brown corrugated cardboard.

What is it suitable for?The material is suitable for presentation models, displays, packaging models, prototypes, and light 3D shapes where a black finish is desired. It works well for temporary or visual applications without heavy loads.

When designing.The flutes run parallel to the long side of the board and affect its stiffness. Avoid fine or heavily loaded parts. Line engravings can locally penetrate the top layer, and area engraving will not be even due to the corrugated structure.

When laser cutting and engraving.Microflute cardboard is cut quickly and generally leaves little soot residue on the edge. On the black surface, dark engravings have little contrast. Protective film is not possible with microflute cardboard.

Finishing and maintenance.A small amount of loose soot can be removed dry, and parts can be glued. Protect the cardboard from moisture, creasing, and point loads to maintain the corrugated structure and flat appearance.
