Coloured acrylic

What is this material? Colored acrylic is a glossy plastic with a strong color. The cut edge retains the same color as the surface. Depending on the chosen variant, a limited amount of light can pass through the sheet.

What is it suitable for? Suitable for displays, nameplates, letters, models, decorative panels, and interior components where a strong color is more important than clear visibility.

When designing.For interlocking parts and finger joints, consider the thickness tolerance. Long, narrow, or very thin parts are relatively brittle and may slightly warp due to the heat of cutting.

For laser cutting and engraving.The laser creates a clean cut edge in the color of the material. Line engraving and surface engraving become lighter and matte, making them stand out visibly against the glossy surface.

Finishing and maintenance.The sheets have protective film. For surface engraving, the film on the top side is removed, and light smoke marks may occur. Clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild acrylic cleaner.

Further processing.You can further process or glue acrylic yourself after cutting. Be aware of tension in the cut edge: small cracks may occur during post-processing. Therefore, try the chosen processing method on a scrap piece first.
