In an area engraving, the laser scans the area line by line within a closed vector shape. This creates a filled engraving surface instead of one thin engraved line.
Construct a closed vector shape
Use a completely closed contour for each engraving surface. A fill color, mask or image in your drawing program is not a production instruction. The vector shape and the operation you allocate after the upload determine what is produced.
Use line colors to separate operations
Give shapes with different operations one of the nine supported line colors. In the portal you select by color whether the lines are cut, engraved as line or engraved as flat. The current color set is at the drawing rules.
Keep details legible
Very small text, thin spaces and complex shapes can become less obvious or optically closed in the material. Rate the design on the actual size and test critical details in the selected material.
Limit unnecessary engraving surface
Area engraving takes processing time because the full region is filled. Remove duplicate paths and combine overlapping engraving areas. Place parts compactly without overlapping cutting lines, then compare the current price in the portal.
Skipping Pixels
A photo or pixel image in a vector file is not produced as area engraving. The portal reports that the embedded image has been skipped. Create suitable vector shapes or read what you can do with a image or pixel image in your file.
Check the design details
After the upload check that all the closed forms are recognized and that each line color is linked to the correct operation. Then look at dimensions, material, thickness, number and price before ordering.
Upload your file to check the recognized forms and operations.
